A representative (apoderado) of a company or business entity is a person with functions specific to act on behalf of this company (legal person). These powers are specified in a very concrete manner, and always signed at the notary. In the world of companies and corporations, this is a very common possition. It is considered a position within the group of people known as "Entrepreneur Assistants". There are two types of representatives: Special power representatives and General power representatives. General power representatives have more capacity of representation than the special ones, and they can perform all general duties of the company. These duties may be limited by the company CEO (unless case of sole administrators). A common example of representative is the manager of a company (gerente). Special power representatives carry out more specific duties in certain aspects of society, and they can't act on its own like the General power representatives.
